چکیده

Since the discovery of first double neutron star (DNS) system, number these exotic binaries has reached fifteen. Here we investigate a channel DNS formation in binary systems with components above mass limit type II supernova explosion (SN II), i.e. 8 MSun. We apply spherically symmetric homologous envelope expansion model to account for loss, and follow dynamical evolution system numerically high-precision integrator. The SN occurs whose orbital parameters are pre-defined, then, is applied again newly formed system. Analysing 1 658 880 models find that via subsequent explosions requires fine-tuning initial parameters. Supernova Explosions and Neutron Star Formation

The current picture of the collapse and explosion of massive stars and the formation of neutron stars is reviewed. According to the favored scenario, however by no means proven and undisputed, neutrinos deposit the energy of the explosion in the stellar medium which surrounds the nascent neutron star. Observations, in particular of Supernova 1987A, suggest that mixing processes play an importan...

Double Neutron Star Formation

We present results of a population synthesis study aimed at examining the role of spin-kick alignment in producing a correlation between the spin period of the first-born neutron star and the orbital eccentricity of observed double neutron star binaries in the Galactic disk. We find spin-kick alignment to be compatible with the observed correlation, but not to alleviate the requirements for low...

Gravitational radiation from convective instabilities in Type II supernova explosions

We present twoand three-dimensional simulations of convective instabilities during the first second of a Type II supernova explosion. Convective overturn occurs in two distinct, spatially well separated regions: (i) inside the proto-neutron star immediately below the neutrinosphere (r < 50 km) and (ii) in the neutrino-heated “hot-bubble” region interior to the outward propagating revived shock ...

Letter to the Editor High neutron star birth velocities and gravitational radiation during supernova explosions

Assuming the observed pulsar velocities to originate during asymmetric collapse of stellar cores, we compute the amplitude of gravitational waves emitted during type II and Ib supernova explosions and their detection rate from within a distance of 30 Mpc. At the rms-level of advanced laser interferometers h ≈ 10−22 at frequencies 300− 1000 Hz the expected rate is about 1 per year.

Neutron Stars, Supernova Explosions and the Transition to Quark Matter

The transition to quark matter can take place in neutron stars. The structure of a hybrid star, containing a core made of quark matter is discussed. The maximum mass of the non-rotating hybrid star turns out to be ∼ 1.6M⊙. Possible signatures of the quark phase as pulsar’s timing, cooling rate etc. are briefly analyzed. The deconfinement transition can also take place during the pre-supernova c...
